Hi there! I’m a technical architect1 by day and a hobbyist2 beekeeper in the evenings and on the weekends. I think bees are fascinating creatures and there is always something new to discover. Although I’ve been doing this for a few years now I know I am still only just starting the journey, there’s a new lesson every time I visit my girls3.
I run around twenty colonies over three locations near me in Suffolk and I am always grateful to my landlords for hosting my hives. For the first time this year (2024 as I write) I have taken a small number of hives to the borage and am very pleased with the results.

- I specialise in enterprise data protection and storage but I’ve been around the IT industry on both sides of the fence (consumer and supplier) for more years than I like to remember now. ↩︎
- Defined as ‘not my primary source of income’ (in fact this year has seen significant investment in bee keeping equipment and left me considerably in the red!) and also ‘less than 39 hives’. ↩︎
- And the boys too of course but the lads are very much in the minority when it comes to honeybee colonies. ↩︎
